Hop Talk

Join us for an exciting afternoon all about hops! Hops are the lifeblood of contemporary beer. In the US, we grow more hops than any other country - and the bulk of those hops come from just up the road in the Yakima Valley. If you've ever wanted to learn more about this plant and the surrounding industry, then this is the event for you.

Graham Ollard, the Vice President of Hollingbery & Son, Inc., along with Reid Lundgren, the Farm Manager at CLS Farms, will stop by the tasting room to provide an in-depth talk about hops, with a wide-range of topics including: agronomics, breeding, farm management, contracts, sales, and a snapshot of the industry at large.

Graham and Reid will also talk about everything you need to know about growing your own hops right at home. They will have a selection of rhizomes to purchase. Hops are a fun plant to grow and, who knows, maybe your hops will someday end up in one of our beers.
